Donate to the LWF Jerusalem Program

LWF Jerusalem is supported financially through the contributions of Lutheran churches, private individuals, and organizations that work for justice, peace, and humanitarian aid. The generosity of these donors provides healthcare, education, and emergency relief to Palestinians in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. Donations can be made by check or bank transfer.

Participate in the Olive Harvest

You are welcome to join us during the olive harvest, usually from October 15 to the end of November. If you live in the Jerusalem area or are planning to visit Jerusalem as a pilgrim or tourist, please consider dedicating a half day or more to volunteering in the The Lutheran World Federation’s olive groves on the Mount of Olives. It is a marvelous experience for the entire family! Students and others here for a longer period often split their time between olive picking in the early mornings and/or late afternoons and exploring Jerusalem and its environs during the rest of the day.

Join the ACT Palestine Forum Prayer Vigil

The Lutheran World Federation Jerusalem Program invites you to join with brothers and sisters around the world in praying for peace on the 24th of every month.

On Christmas Eve 2012, the ACT Palestine Forum (APF) launched the Ecumenical Prayer Vigil for Peace in the Middle East.  This global movement will continue until the Israeli occupation is dismantled, violence in the Middle East ends, and all can celebrate a just and lasting negotiated resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

By engaging in this vigil we are declaring that God’s grace is the source of all peace and through prayer we are humbling ourselves to God’s will for all creation. We offer this prayer vigil as an opportunity for congregations to incorporate the welfare of the people of the Middle East into the heart of their church life: in their worship, in their learning, and in their advocacy.

Participate in the Grape Harvest

We invite you to join us during the grape harvest. Our harvest is usually completed in one day in mid-August. If you live in the Jerusalem area or are planning to visit Jerusalem as a pilgrim or tourist, please consider dedicating a half day to volunteering in the The Lutheran World Federation’s vineyard on the Mount of Olives.

Offer Material Aid

Since the 1950s, the LWF Jerusalem Program has acted as a distribution center for material aid resources sent from donors and donor organizations from around the world.  LWF Jerusalem works with other like-minded organizations in the area to provide emergency aid through relief convoys and shipments. If you, your organization, or church wishes to contribute relief goods, hospital supplies, school supplies, etc., please contact us beforehand so that we may ensure that your donation can make the biggest impact possible. Please do not send goods without contacting us first.

Volunteer

The LWF Jerusalem Program is sometimes in need of voluntary assistance. Volunteers accomplish a variety of tasks, from cleaning up the campus to writing project proposals to assisting with the olive harvest.  Some of our volunteers have been professionals who contribute their skills at Augusta Victoria Hospital and the Vocational Training Program.  If you would like information on volunteer opportunities, please send your resume and cover letter to us at [email protected].
